By far, the best restaurant we visited on our short break to Amsterdam. The food did not take long to come and was piping hot, made fresh. The combination vegan platter was very affordable for 3 adults and so filling. The owner/worker recommended us nice traditional drinks which were great. the atmosphere in the restaurant was also great, seemed like a good hidden spot for locals. First time trying Ethiopian food as it is not common where I live, and everything about the restaurant was amazing, will be coming back soon!

The Eritrean cuisine in this place was a pleasant surprise. You need to go with a bit of an open mind as the place is run by a single person, who will certainly suggest dishes that will help him stay on schedule, but once you are past that, it's a very tasty experience which we'd certainly recommend to anyone looking for something different while in Amsterdam. Refreshingly unique and a nice contrast to the otherwise dull touristy options closer to the city center. Highly recommended, especially for smaller groups of people so you can share a single large plate with all your dinner companions.

Lovely place with amazing decorations 😍 we ate with hands which was super cool(they will wash your hands before) and food was tasty and fresh, a little too spicy for me but it was worth it❤️

I visited this place back in April and absolutely fell in love with the food and the restaurant owner. He made us feel so welcome, tailored the food according to our wants, and even gave us a free drink! The food is 10/10, I had to come back again a few days ago because I couldn’t stop thinking about it. The atmosphere isn’t really fancy, but more casual, which is great if you want to go for dinner without spending a fortune. Highly recommend ❤️

This was an incredible experience. The owner seated us as a walk in even though a big party was showing up soon. We went off his recommendations and he did not steer us wrong. We embraced the tradition of eating with our hands and the food was some of the best I’ve ever had. We also had a coconut beer which was delicious. This is a must try in Amsterdam!

This is a great little find. Lovely food and authentic African dishes. Friendly service and great value. Quiet but cosy. What’s not to like here? You won’t go hungry and food is delicious with a mix of vegetarian, Meat and Vegan. Ask for a mixed plate or just let them feed you.

Superb meal! They were out of a couple of the veggie dishes, but they more than made up for it by giving us a little bit of everything. Recommend the spicy lamb, eggplant, potatoes and lentils. Honestly, you can pretty much put it in the server’s hands (who also made the food). He’s the expert and did not lead us astray!

Ethiopian and Eritrean are my favorite cuisines, and I try to find a good restaurant wherever I travel. This was the best I have experienced. The dishes are lighter, fresher, and have some unique touches along with traditional cuisine. The owner is also very interesting and helpful. But be prepared to wait. The chef prepares the food when ordered, it has not been sitting for hours, so it is fresh. Worth the wait. Can't wait to go again. Highly recommended.
